PRAYING TOGETHER....

COLLECTIVE PRAYERS were observed in India till the advent of the 13th century. However after this period this practice was neglected and forgotten by the masses. Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Upasana Centres were established with the intent to rejuvenating this forgotten ancient Indian concept of collective prayers. Today they have spread across the entire globe.

The lack of Bhakti and Seva and the resulting mental strength that it provides to a person is one of the main factors that cause the delay of finding answers to our problems in life. The path to find peace and relief from worldly issues is found at the Upasana Centres where we not only receive the strength to steady and calm our minds but also are gently led towards God. It is at the Upasana Centre that we begin to understand that it is only pure, pristine bhakti that will lead us to ultimate peace and calm.

The first Collective Upasana on a Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Upasana Centre was performed on 9th May 1997 on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya. Today, Shree Aniruddha Upasana is observed on 450 Upasana Centres spread across the globe, generally on all the Saturdays of all months.

The Upasana Centres gently teach bhakti by following the practice of collective praying. All gather together at the various centres and perform the collective upasana based on the Sadguru’s principles.
The benefits of collective upasana are as under:

  1. One receives more positive vibes and the impact is greater when one prays in a group rather than alone
  2. We can concentrate and focus much better when praying with others as one tends to get distracted or lose attention when praying by oneself
  3. When I pray collectively, I am praying for myself as well as for others and thus the prayers reach the five elements of nature and the Lord much faster
  4. The practice of collective upasana builds unity in society and also strengthens it spiritually. Collective praying at the Upasana Centres thus builds and strengthens both the individual as well as the nation.

These Centres have been creating an atmosphere of devotion and bliss. They have been the nerve centres for building pure love based human relationships. These Centres have been responsible for forming a team, a congregation of the likeminded, devotional people. These Centres have also been responsible for building and maintaining communal harmony within the Indian citizens who represent many religions and speak numerous languages. These Centres have been the workshops where the theory that Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Bapu preaches during his Thursday’s discourses is actually and practically implemented and practiced. These Centres are intended to be temples of worships which impart fearlessness to all its devotees.
Following recitations are performed during Sadguru’s Upasana:

1. Vakratundna Mahakay…

2. Ansuyotri Sambhuto…

3. Shree – Aadimaata – Shubhankaraa – Stavanam

4. Shree-Aniruddha Dhyaanmantra

5. Shree Aniruddha Shloki

6. Shree Aniruddha Mahima

7. Kleshnivaarak Shree Aniruddha Kavach

8. Sadguru Tarak Mantra – (5 times)
 “OM Manah-Saamarthya-Daata Shree-Aniruddhaaya Namah”

9. Shree Guru-Kshetra-Mantra (5 Times)

10. Vijaymantra

11. Shree Aniruddha Aarti

Devotees can also avail the opportunity of listening to the recorded discourses of Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Bapu at the Upasana Centres.Through His simple, sweet and flowing language HE explains various ways in which we can make ourselves mentally and physically strong. HIS discourses elaborate the importance and ways of doing bhakti which even a common man can understand and practice easily.

Sadguru Bapu’s discourses are pots full of nectar which are distributed freely and in ample quantity equally to all. We can find solutions to any and all of our problems and sufferings by simply listening to His solutions and following the path of collective upasana.

Devotees are given opportunities to get involved in various devotional programmes on all the Upasana Centres. Devotees can also participate in the Annual Foundation Day celebrations (Vardhapan Diwas) on these Upasana Centres.

    Anubhav of Dr. Rajiv Karnik

    ANUBHAV of
    Dr. Rajiv D. Karnik ,
    Interventional Cardiologist
    M.D. (Med.), DM (Cardiology)

Yes, this is possible only for God…
    ( Dr. Rajivsinh Karnik )

It was the evening of 8 October 2005. I was thrusting a lot of belongings in my bag as I was preparing to go to Cleveland clinic, America for a training course of 2 months. Meanwhile, my wife, Mrs. Priya, came along with a photograph of her deity (Yes, I was considering HIM as only her deity then) and said to me, “Rajeev, I know that you do not believe, but please keep this photograph in your bag for my sake.” At that time, I was not aware that the hands of Param Poojya Bapu in the photograph, which were raised to give blessings, will hold back a 'gigantic Tsunami' which was approaching towards my life!

During that period, I used to travel abroad at least 5 to times in a year. But it was only during this visit that my wife thought of giving me this photograph and this was not a mere coincidence.

In the third week of November, there was a sudden shoot of pain in my back (ribs). I thought that it was probably because of snowfall, cold breeze and my demanding everyday schedule. Since I was returning back to India within another 5 days, I did not bother to get it investigated in America. But I was not aware of the fact that 'Blood Cancer', an extremely dangerous disease, was taking control over my body. While I was returning back to India, the platelet count in my body had drastically dropped down to 10000 (In normal individuals, this count ranges between 1.5 lakhs to 4.5 lakhs. However, if it drops below 20000, then the condition becomes fatal). Today, I am sure that my wife had requested Bapu himself to be on guard and take my care through the photograph which she had given to me. In such a condition, if I would have consumed alcohol in the flight, it would have caused haemorrhage in my stomach and my life would have ended during my return journey. But even today, I am surprised when I think of how I was kept away from consuming the unsuitable drink and was able to complete my journey from America to London and from there to Mumbai in a most severe and critical of health conditions.

After returning to India, my first day passed in recovering from jet-lag and the second day was through in meeting my patients who were waiting to see me for nearly 2 months. On the third day, my blood test report diagnosed that I was suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Blood Cancer). I managed to spend one day under the observation of Dr. Ramamurthy at Bombay hospital. However, my health deteriorated further. My wife, Dr. Mrs. Priya was crying when she informed about my condition to Dr. Shivanandsinh Nichnaki who is living in Happy Home.

At around 1.30 am, Dr. Shivanandsinh called back unexpectedly to Priya and said “Param Poojya Bapu has given a message that HE is standing behind you, and has asked you to initiate the treatment of the cancer specialist (Oncologist). After listening to this encouragement and assurance, Priya became psychologically stable and remained so till the end; i.e. she was supporting me till I returned back home in June.

One more unusual incident occurred on the same night. After midnight, the watchman who was sitting outside the I.C.C.U., saw a couple leaving my room after a casual visit. None of my relatives had visited me at that time. Priya was certain that her Deities (Parameshwar's) themselves had given a visit. This was because I had heard that many of my Bapu Bhakta patients who had undergone a heart operation also had a similar experience. Next day, i.e. on 26 November, my health deteriorated further as they were shifting me to Tata hospital and by the time I reached the hospital, my lungs were filled with water.

While I was struggling to gasp, I gathered courage and requested them to begin the treatment for 'Pulmanary oedema' even before the R.M.O. could visit. This cleared my lungs and prevented me from undergoing Ventilation therapy. If I had to undergo ventilation, then it would have been impossible for me to revive. On 27 November, I realized the situation after seeing the condition of my neighbouring patients in the I.C.U. When I saw them living on the ultimate edge of their life along with their sufferings, I could imagine my future and it seemed to be extremely disheartening.

Both my lungs were infected with Pneumonia and my body was deficient of the white blood cells required to fight this infection as they were replaced by the cancerous blast cells. According to the doctors, this was a condition of 100% certain death. I began searching for possibilities of a shortcut which would liberate me from undergoing this distressing and painful journey. I was well aware of the ingredients which were used to temporarily stop the beating of the heart during a heart surgery. I began searching for one of these powerful ingredients with which I could stop the beating of my own heart.

After I realized that this was not possible, I became extremely depressed and was lying down motionless. But my wife was firm and was constantly supporting me and providing me with patience. Soon another incident occurred which changed my life. On the night of 28 November, I had a dream in which Param Poojya Bapu was cleaning using a large broom (Just like the broom used by the Janitors of municipality). Then HE consoled me by raising his reassuring hand. The place which he was cleaning, were my lungs. I woke up all of a sudden and said to Priya, “Your Bapu has cleaned my lungs and I have a hope that now I can make it.

The next day, Param Poojya Suchitdada sent across a cassette of Vishnusahastranaam (The thousand names of lord Vishnu) which was blessed by his own hands. I began listening to it. Dada said, “To prevent the rays of Duttaguru's blessings from getting reversed, one essentially has to be receptive.”
Since my Ram Naam bank savings were showing zero balance, he provided me with the unsecured loan of Vishnusahastranaam and I began to have a practical experience of the compassionate shield. Param Poojya Suchitdada said, “The Trishanku (Uncertainty – Neither in heaven nor on earth) will end on th Thursday morning.” On Wednesday, 30 November, Param Poojya Mrs. Nandai herself visited Tata hospital to bless two patients and I was one of them. Nandai said to me, “I have come along with Aniruddha's message. You are going to fight and win this battle. Fighter always wins.” The very next day, i.e. on 1 December, the physiotherapist of Tata hospital came and started my lung exercises. As it was decided, my Trishanku began to end. An unusual capability ruled my mind after Sadguru's assurance and a ray of hope became visible. Later, I continued to perform the breathing exercises for the rest of the day. My lung functioning improved surprisingly within one day and I was shifted from the I.C.C.U. to a private B.M.T. unit. After my first chemotherapy, I was advised for a bone-marrow transplant. When we enquired about the expenses for conducting it in America, the cost came to 2 crore rupees if the Bone marrow donor is my sibling and if the donor is an American then the cost will increase to 5 crore rupees. And on top of that, 30% of such patients had expired in America. Priya said to Param Poojya Dada that it was impossible for us to arrange for such a big amount. HE calmly replied, “Do not worry at all. We will perform all the treatment in Tata hospital itself.” My future health progress in Tata hospital was extremely amazing.
Once, the chief Oncologist Dr. Purvish Parikh said to me, “Someone up there is helping you. Otherwise your survival was very difficult.” Although I was relieved from this life threatening disease, usually this recovery is temporary. I was aware that this disease does not relapse only in extremely rarest of the cases. Otherwise, relapse was inevitable.

As mentioned in Hoffman's Grantha (divine book), the usual lifespan after this disease is up to 3 years. Since I was aware of all these things, I was uncertain and anxious. During this time, Priya introduced me to Param Poojya Suchitdada. At that time, in the clinic, Dada said to me, “Rajeev, Remember one thing, even if a poisonous snake is ready with its hood raised above, only Dattaguru will decide whether the snake will bite or leave without biting.” Later, on the eve of Ganesh utsav, Param Poojya Bapu said to me, “Rajeev, now keep all the books and so called grantha's aside. Many exceptional things have happened in relation to us and bookish knowledge cannot be applicable to them.” And true to this, the time has passed and it is near about five years now. In this period, I was able to support the marriage of my eldest daughter, immigration to a foreign nation, admission of my younger daughter in medical college.

An incident which occurred in 2003 was a 'notice in advance' to this astonishing experience. During the 'Jagannath Utsav' held in 2003, my wife had an opportunity to impart seva in 'Savitridham'. But she had expressed her disappointment as Param Poojya Bapu was not going to visit this dham (sacred dwelling).

However, who had imagined that her savings of good deeds earned in Savitridham, will help her in 2005 to save her 'Satyavaan' from the clutches of Yamraaj (God of death) and Param Poojya Bapu had designed this plan to get this done?

In the earlier part of this narration, I had written, “My wife's Deity, her Bapu”. But I never held any disrespect for Param Poojya Bapu in my mind. On the contrary, I respected his work. I used to consider him as a “Yugpravartak” (The originator of a new era). Lokmanya Tilak had brought into effect, a complete transformation to break the series of slavery through his articles and speeches. In a similar manner, Bapu, through his effective personality, speech and thoughts is bringing today's misguided young generation on the right path. I had seen that his organization was doing a great work of uplifting the despaired farmers and the students from the rural sectors. But the idea of God was not acceptable to me.

In addition to this, the second thought which came to my mind was that 'How could a co-student, who studied with me in Ruia college and later on while completing M.D., suddenly become God?
In this way, after entering into a new life, I started sensing numerous experiences from a different outlook.

Here, there are some remarkable experiences of heart patients who came in my contact due to my profession. Sometimes, I have seen in some Bapu bhakta's who had come to me for an angiography after a heart attack, that the blood clot which was responsible for their heart attack had migrated from the coronary artery into one of its smaller sub-branches and had settled there. In some cases, I have observed that the blood clot had dissolved completely. I have also seen that a patient, whose heart's ability to contract had reduced to 15%, revived back to normal within a few weeks.

All these incidents are possible scientifically. However, when you get to see them happen in a specific set of people, who are holding a significant savings of good deeds, then you cannot perceive anything other than Gods grace and Sadguru's 'protective armor' as its rational.

This is why, after performing 'Aanhik' in the morning and while chanting Sadguru Shri Aniruddha's 9 Guru Vachan's (Sadguru's nine promises), I remember all my experiences and sincerely utter, “All my fears and the burden of troubles has minimized. Sadguru is my protector on the Devayanpanth, Sadguru gives me the wealth of bliss and drives my Yogakshema (To gather and preserve all that is essential for life). In my life, the impossible has become possible and the Ravana (evil asura king as referred in the Ramayana) is executed.

'Dau-Nandai-Aniruddha' have showered their blessings on me because of my Bhakti and the sense of surrender.

    Anubhav of Ms. FALGUNI PATHAK

ANUBHAV of the "DANDIYA QUEEN" Ms. FALGUNI PATHAK :

Apghat Bhay Jaii, Tale Akal Maran!

    (Falguniveera Pathak)

On the occasion of the Rankala Mahotsav, sponsored by the Maharashtra State Government and the M.T.D.C., I had to perform a stage show on the 15 of February 2007 at Kolhapur.  On 14th February, at 10.00 a.m., we viz. my friend, driver and myself left for Kolhapur in our Innova car.

We halted at Pune around 12.30 p.m. for tea and snacks. Thereafter on the further journey both my friend and myself dozed off to sleep on the back seat of the car. Normally I always sit in the seat next to the driver. But because the rear seat of the Innova can be reclined we both decided to sit in the rear seat.

When I was roused from my snooze, I realized that our car was traveling on the Pune – Satara Expressway at a speed of about 120 Km/hr. and I suddenly realized that O God! Even the driver had dozed off to sleep. At that very moment I saw a S.T. bus coming from the opposite direction with great speed. Immediately I warned the driver. That moment he strongly applied the brakes of the car, the car veered a little to the left and instead of a head-on collision with the S.T.bus, the bus hit the car on the side.

The impact was so severe that the car was totally smashed. The engine was totally smashed, and the front two wheels were also totally broken. Even the rear window glass was totally shattered and hot vapours and smoke was coming out from the engine. Even the S.T. bus was equally damaged on the left side. But what was surprising that there was not a scratch or any form of injury to all three of us in the car and also to anyone in the S.T. bus!

All this happened so suddenly and quickly, that we were all dazed and confused and remained seated in the car for some time. The villagers who had gathered there advised us to get out of the car, as there was a possibility of the car catching fire. All three of us were trembling with fright. But the villagers were very surprised to find us all hale and hearty and safe. “How did you get saved?” we could see this question clearly written on their faces.

The police arrived and started investigating. We were told to come to the police station. But we were worried how we would transfer our entire luggage, which we had carried for the stage show.
At that instant a gentleman wearing a white shirt and gray pant came and stood in front of us. He started enquiring of us from where we had come and where we were going. But we were hesitating to give any information to him. Realizing this, he said “Do not fear, I too am a Bapu Bhakta. Seeing Bapu's photo on your car I came forward to help you.” Hearing this we got a little courage in our minds.

That unknown person immediately arranged to hire a Maruti Van.  He himself transferred with great care the entire luggage from that car to the van. Then we sent my friend along with the luggage ahead and the driver and myself, we went to the police station very frightened. From there at first we informed P. Sameerdada on the phone in Mumbai. Shri Sameerdada himself came to the phone immediately and he gave us great support by his reassurance. He informed us that he would immediately send our colleagues from the Satara and Wai Kendra. We felt greatly relieved.

As told by P.Sameerdada within 20 minutes the volunteers from Satara and Wai Kendra's arrived. They all gave us a lot of support. The case papers of the accident were made and that too in such a way that we could get the reimbursement of the major amount of the entire expenses. They also arranged to transport my damaged vehicle by truck back to Mumbai. I left my driver to rest at the house of a Wai volunteer and I started back for my stage show in Kolhapur. The volunteers from P. Sameerdada's office in Mumbai were constantly in touch with us during this difficult time and were continuously supporting us.

The stage show on the 15th of February was a great success. After the show was over whilst speaking to the organizers I was told that during the entire duration of the show 3 white pigeons were sitting on the stage. The pigeons did not move away even an inch for the entire show, in spite of the loud sound and glaring lights… The gentleman wearing white shirt and gray trousers and these three pigeons… I realized the indication. Though I was not aware of this, I offer my salutations to my Sadguru Mauli P.P. Aniruddha Bapu who is always with me.
